I'm sure that the adult ed classes that people go to on blogging (Creative Writing: How To Write An Effective Blog or similar) are full of useful info. However, being a true-blue Sagittarrean woman I skipped that option. Didn't event Google for a free Top Ten Tips story or anything.
I did have a rapidly passing thought that perhaps I should take a moment to get clear on my objectives for this blog... but I didn't.
I have long had a theory that one of the best and most bonding aspects of friendship involves the collecting of random/funny/meaningful/embarrassing and/or life-changing experiences and then sharing them... in detail with friends. In fact some of my experiences become more funny when my mind cuts to the telling-aforementioned-friends part... like the time I found myself in a Hillsong Prayer Meeting by accident (true story)....
There I was being prayed for by the group members because they knew I had a job interview the next day... eyes closed... listening to the fabulous voice of the woman next to me (she was really into the gospel style of praying which is way more engaging than the slightly regimented kind I grew up with)... and I start thinking what my Facebook status update was going to be. Funny. And it was funny.... a few weeks and many, many comments later we still get a giggle out of that story.
Not that there's anything wrong with the whole PostSecret movement... I'm just saying there is a lot to be learned, loved and laughed about (at or with) by sharing out loud. Try it.
I love these stories and am an avid collector of them myself...looking forward to reading yours here Miss T. Well done! xoN
